"By implementing automated systems to support practically all aspects of Buffalo’s
allocation and replenishment operations, Raymark’s solution resolved our key challenge
of having the right product at the right time to meet customer demand."
— Rahaf Assaleh, Information System Manager, Buffalo David Bitton
The Challenge
Buffalo Jeans endeavored to optimize its merchandise allocations and to find a more
efficient and effective way to deliver initial allocations of new styles to each
store. The goal was help improve sales and in-stocks while maintaining margins and
satisfying customers.
The Solution
After evaluating other suppliers’ alternative solutions and realizing that other
replenishment applications are too expensive to implement or too difficult to learn
and use, Raymark and Buffalo Jeans’ project teams worked together to automate the
allocation business process and move from a spreadsheet-based solution to a best
in class technology solution, using an automated allocation system.
Optimized allocation was achieved by developing a custom extension of Raymark’s
packaged replenishment solutions and by creating more accurate and reliable output
compared to spreadsheets. This allowed Buffalo Jeans to examine all relevant factors
including sales history, seasonal fluctuations, store volume, and warehouse reserve.
The new system enabled Buffalo Jeans to conduct initial distributions to stores,
and to create replenishment models in an effort to cut down on the number of required
transfers.
The entire implementation process was completed in less than 4 months.
The Benefits
- Matched right products and quantities to the different regions and stores
- Allowed better movement of seasonal products
- Achieved quick return on investment
- Improved customer satisfaction
- Distributed labor load and avoided hiring an excessive number of distribution
team members
- Significantly reduced allocation time. With the new system in place, complete
replenishment models can now be prepared in minutes.
